Belgravia, London, UK

Opened in 1984 by couple Betty and Michael Hawksley, it boasts a collection of over 350 fragrances. It was first opened as an escape form large department stores, and claims to be the oldest independent perfumery in London. The store is small but filled to ceiling height with over 37 different niche brands- it really is an Aladdin’s cave (just more fragrant and with magnolia walls). I’ve read a number of books that mention Les Senteurs as their go-to store in London, and having been there myself its easy to tell that their collection is one of the best in London. Les Senteurs are credited with  introducing niche perfumes to the UK’s commercial market, being the first to stock the likes of Annick Goutal and Parfums Frederic Malle. Aside from hosting a feast of fragrances, they also house an exclusive collection by renowned perfume brands Bruno Acampora, Cloon Keen Atelier, Folie A Plusieurs, Papillion, Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier, Kilian and Tauer Perfumes.

On average, samples cost £3.50, and your details will be recorded on the company’s system so that they may keep track of your transactions. Visit their website www.lessenteurs.com for more information.
